Holiday Camp
We have recently introduced the Peter Pan holiday camp!
This is run for 3 consecutive days in either the first or second week of the Easter holidays and again during the last two weeks of July.
The day runs from 9am-3pm and is available to current Peter Pan children and their older siblings up to the age of 8. We offer 10 spaces per day and if spaces allow, we will also open up to our cohort of children who have just left for school.
Snack and lunch is provided for all children and lunch is cooked over the fire.
What happens at holiday camp?
The children arrive and come into the log cabin where there will be some activities set up - such as colouring/drawing, construction and playdough. When all the children have arrived, we will do a quick register and discuss the rules for camp - to keep us safe.
The children can then choose to play inside the log cabin or outside in the garden. Again, a variety of activities will be available to the children such as natural painting, a hammock, woodwork, sand and water play and clay.
We will then stop for a snack of fruit and a biscuit altogether before carrying on with the morning. After snack, the children can help prepare their lunch as well as carrying on with their activities. Lunch will then be cooked over the fire.
When lunch is ready, the children will sit round the fire to eat, or at the table dependant on the food on offer, and will eat lunch together.
After lunch, we will then get ready for an afternoon in the woods! When in the woods, the children can play on the swing or hammock. They can also do pond dipping, digging and play with ropes along with many other activities.
We will then return to nursery, wash our hands and get our things together before sitting round the fire circle. We will then end with songs and stories before going home.
What does my child need to bring?
Your child will need water in a water bottle, waterproof trousers, spare clothes in case they get wet from water play, nappies if needed, sun cream (which needs to be applied before arriving) and they will also need insect repellent applied before they arrive. Sun cream will be reapplied to the children after lunch time.
Examples of lunch
Some of the lunches that have been available at holiday camp include pizza wraps, soup, hotdogs and jacket potatoes. All lunches are served with vegetable sticks and will be cooked over the fire. The children will also be offered pudding, some of which will also be cooked over the fire. Examples of puddings include smores, apple crumble and ice cream. As stated, the children will help prepare lunch during the morning.
We cater for allergies and you will inform us of any allergies/dietary requirements your child has on the registration form.
How much does it cost?
Currently, holiday camp is £50 per day with a sibling discount. This includes lunch for your child. Childcare vouchers can be used to pay for holiday camp but it will not be included within any 2, 3 and 4 year old funded hours.
Registering for camp
An email will be sent to all current Peter Pan families with a deadline to register your interest. After this deadline, an email about holiday camp will then be sent to our previous cohort of children who have just left for school, if spaces are available. We cannot guarantee availability to our previous cohort of children. When your space is confirmed, you will receive a registration form which you will need to complete and this will include any dietary requirements and how we can best support your child if they have SEN.
