Key Person chats

The role of key person in an early years setting is much more than just a title. It is a requirement of the Early Years Foundation Stage that every registered childcare setting must assign a key person to your child when they start. You will be told who this key person is and have their role explained to you when your child starts. Your key person will help your child to settle and will then be responsible for ensuring that the care your little one receives meets all of their needs.

Your key person will be your first point of contact at Peter Pan and she is also responsible for exchanging information with you about your child. You will have regular chats  about how well your child is progressing in their learning and development over your time at Peter Pan.

If you would like a chat with your child's Key Person contact us and we will arrange one.

Focus Child.

Planning for your child's learning and development

Each fortnight at nursery we will be focusing our observations and planning on a selected group of  children at nursery. We will be observing them while they play to find out more about their interests, preoccupations and needs so that we can ensure we plan activities to help them progress.

We value the expertise, knowledge and understanding you have of your child and would really appreciate it if you would share this with us so that we can work together to meet your child's needs.

When your child is a focus child we would love you to add an observation or two to your child's learning journey to show us what your child is busy with at home.  If you can add photographs too that would be brilliant and in the long term will add to a rich picture of your child's development.

Is there anything significant happening in your child's life at the moment?  For example a visiting relative, a new pet, a planned family celebration?  If there is anything you'd like to tell us about your child we'd love to hear it.

In turn we will keep you up to date on your child's journey at nursery by adding observations and photographs to Tapestry.

We would like to take the opportunity to invite you to a key person chat during the week following the focus child.
